Divoká Šárka valley is your best bet—it has gentle, well-maintained paths with plenty of shaded sections and benches for rest breaks. The lower routes through the valley floor are mostly flat, and you'll find drinking fountains and parking very close to the trailheads. We'd recommend starting with the 2-3 km loops rather than the longer ridge walks.
Pálava has routes for different fitness levels. The lakeside paths are nearly flat and perfect for a leisurely 1-2 hour walk, while the hilltop views require more effort but reward you with views across South Moravia. Most people over 45 enjoy the moderate routes if they take their time—we suggest 4-5 hours for a 6 km route with stops for photos and rest.
The Czech hiking federation marks trails twice yearly—spring and autumn—so you won't get lost. Our guides check conditions monthly and let you know immediately if there's storm damage or maintenance work affecting your planned route. Winter is when fallen branches happen most, so we always give seasonal updates.
Guides bring local knowledge you won't find in any app—they know where the shade is on hot days, which cafés serve the best coffee, and the stories behind what you're seeing. You'll also walk at your own pace with rest stops whenever you need them, and there's always someone who knows first aid. Solo walks give you freedom and quiet reflection, but guided experiences tend to be more social and educational.
Prokopské has accessible entry points and flat sections perfect for walking frames or wheelchairs, though some main trails do have slopes. The shaded canyon paths near the entrance are wheelchair-accessible for about 800 meters, and there's excellent parking and facilities nearby. We can recommend the exact accessible sections when you contact us.
Spring and autumn are perfect—warm but not hot, with minimal insects. Olomouc's urban parks are lovely in summer too, though midday heat can be uncomfortable. We run guided walks March through November; in winter we offer shorter routes on clear days. Group walks happen most Saturdays, and you can always arrange a private consultation to plan your own route anytime.
